All residential and commercial construction including, but not limited to, new homes, businesses, additions, decks, porches, garages, storage buildings (including canvas covered metal hoop construction) and sheds greater than 144 sq ft in size, all require a Building Permit.

Ordinary roof repairs or re-covering where there is no structural replacement, replacement siding or replacement windows do not require issuance of a Building Permit.

Yes, all swimming pools, that is anything that can hold 24 or more inches of water, hot tubs or spas require Building Permits.  In-ground pools or above-ground pools less than 48 inches tall require proper fencing.  All pools are required to have pool alarms.

Fences do not require Town approval.  However, they are limited to 7 ft in height without a variance issued.  In the front yards of the Lakeshore District, they are limited to 3 ft in height without a variance issued.
